I seem to remember something like that. A lot of 24 hour places were only filled with good tipping sober (ish) "Strippers and bartenders" (from different places) after their shifts ended at 3am.

But yeah, Gay Denny's is a Phoenix landmark. But there’s way more to eating out in Phoenix these days. Then I went there once with a girl I knew, and gay was just a tiny room. Right about the time everyone I knew turned 21, they opened the Pink Panther, followed by the Casbah… at that was the end of underage music scene hangouts.

Google “Gay Denny’s,” and you’ll see the first few hits are about the Denny’s on the corner of Seventh Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix. Dennys post-covid? Actually, for real — is there currently anything in the neighborhood that does or would attract night owls like our younger selves?
